#diagramming
Separation of content and presentation. Content written in YAML (with some Markdown) that then populates templates defined in Jinja2 but then styled with CSS. With my diagramming library seamlessly integrated 😀

Working on slides for my class starting next week and thought: screw it, I’m going to get Claude to code my dream presentation tool.

(Note I already have Claude coding my dream diagramming tool which is used here too)

Taking clauses apart taught me to appreciate the architecture of language. It also made grammar feel less like homework and more like a puzzle. #language #school #prose #grammar

still digging through the diagramming tool. very impressive.

when authoring these diagrams do you take the diagram in isolation ? or render the whole page and check ? how do you author them ?

DTP? Database? Project timelines? Diagramming? The former 3 are never Office jobs any more, and diagramming is either live and interactive with a Miro-like thing, or built using text with Mermaid.

Are you using the C4 model to create your architecture diagrams? Then Structurizr might be a good option for you to consider. Let's take a closer look at it in this blog!

Good point. I meant more "you need to diagram stuff out" (In Primer the diagramming works!).

I miss the heady heights of 2022 where we pair programmed and practiced diagramming the systems multiple times a week.

We had weekly code gyms and did kata. Fuckkkkkkkk.

All of the sentence diagramming we all did in English class has prepared us to parse this wild ride of a sentence

Today I went down a rabbit hole about “are retractable Vulcan dicks and internal testes a novel invention or fanon” and found out that they were diagramming this stuff in early 70s Spirk zines.

Just got to a milestone developing a systems configuration modeler that imports a part’s bill of materials and makes an automated drawing tree diagramming all relational artifacts at every level. I start pto tomorrow so I’m elated I got to a proof of concept done

I miss the play by play diagramming and breakdowns that Football Night in America used to do with the Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison used to do at the digital table. The highlights now are just Jason Garrett and Devin McCourtney shouting over each other.

After some diagramming, I think the semi-insipid nature of the tune as written is in the way it always returns to the I chord, with its excursions from the I very controlled (excl. the last chorus's "no-oh-oh"). The melodic interest's in the ways Langley departs from the tune as written ("phrasing")
Still trying to reconcile why (to simplify) the melody of "Texas" in itself reads as ~great to country critics and ~serviceable to pop critics. (Current conjecture is "tune as something the singer can do something with" vs. "tune as an object of interest in and of itself", but I'm not tied to this)
trying to make sense of "choosin' texas" takery. tl dr I think we're in a culturally improved place overall if choosin texas is bigger than morgan wallen (yes he is probably coming home to roost but i'm hoping against hope he won't) www.dontrocktheinbox.com/t/

Reladraw is a new text-based diagramming language that uses relative positioning instead of absolute coordinates or auto-layout. Designed for human and AI use, it ensures predictable, deterministic arrangements by solving for minimum distances between defined nodes.

Engineering ethics are complicated and imperfect, but I will always vividly remember how my Materials Science professor opened the course by showing us pictures of the Hyatt Regency walkway collapse and then walking through the free body diagram diagramming the exact mistake that caused the disaster
Reminder that in Canada upon becoming an engineer you get an iron ring made of a collapsed bridge, purposely designed to be uncomfortable, to remind you that your ethics demand you give a fuck even about the boring grudgework of such as double-checking your math.

LLMs can drive down the costs of diagramming or modeling. Above, I wrote about the work to build models, and that really is changing. The change is unevenly distributed, and its impact is hard to see right now, but overarchingly, I think we’re going to move from diagrams to models as the cost of […]
