Wasted the whole afternoon editing a pic my wife took of our cat next to my bb gun. I went down a hole and when I came back we had this.

This is from my new 2026 Calendar of Weirdness.

This page in memory of Wilhelmina and Ernestine Sheep, lost at sea, after their iceberg was destroyed in a collision with a steamship, April 1912.

Lions, pandas and zebras, oh my.

I made a thing (again). Gave copies to friends. I think it worked out beautifully (again), but your comments/critiques welcome.

This is the January image from my 2025 collage calendar. I took copyright-free images from pexels & pixabay and overlaid/edited them in odd combinations. Just gave some to friends who seemed genuinely intrigued.

What do you think?

My attempt at #Painterly for this week's #PostProcess challenge by @rjrock.bsky.social.

I was aiming for impressionism. Edits were done using Affinity and a whole lot of trial and error 😬

Struggling with website edits and feedback loops? Explore the PACT framework Erin learned at #ACES2025 to master digital asset editing. Gain strategies for version control, platform testing, and become a valued problem-solving editor. Transform your digital workflow today! zurl.co/NjzSw

Hey, editors! Have you ever found yourself drowning in feedback loops while editing a website, app, or online course? You're not alone! 🙋♀️ At #ACES2025, I attended Nadia Pupa's insightful session on "Mastering Digital Assets." During her session, Nadia provided practical strategies for editors working on digital platforms. As our industry evolves, so must our approach to editing these complex, multi-layered projects. What Exactly Is a Digital Asset? A digital asset includes anything produced for the online space that carries value, shares information, or provides education, whether free or purchased. Think websites, apps, online courses, email campaigns, and interactive content. The Top 3 Digital Editing Challenges Many of us struggle with the same issues when editing digital content: 1. Maintaining consistency across platforms 2. Controlling iterations and versions 3. Closing the feedback loop—without endless revisions! The PACT Framework: Your New Digital Editing Ally Nadia introduced her PACT framework to help editors keep the editing process under control: 📋 Plan Establish processes and requirements before diving in. Define what success looks like for this specific digital asset. 🔍 Audit This is where the actual editing happens. Beyond traditional copyediting, include checks for: - Brand consistency - Accessibility issues - Mobile vs. desktop display differences - Functional elements (Do those buttons actually work?) 👥 Collaborate Set up efficient feedback loops and clear approval processes. Don't be afraid to pick up the phone when written comments aren't getting through! 🧪 Test Validate usability across platforms before finalizing: - Test all the links - View the content on multiple devices - "Fail" interactive elements to edit error messages - Check preview text in emails Practical Tips to Try - Suggest file-naming conventions to maintain version control - Create editorial templates and checklists specific to digital assets - Test mobile views (easily forgotten but critically important!) - Question placeholder text rather than assuming it's intentional - Edit the preview text in email campaigns (that little snippet that appears in inboxes) Build Trust Through Problem-Solving Nadia emphasized that editors who can identify problems AND suggest solutions build tremendous trust with clients and teams. I’ve seen this with my own clients. You’re saving them time and energy by allowing them to just say yes. And when stakeholders like executive staff or legal counsel derail the publication process (we've all been there!), having concrete solutions ready can turn you from "grammar police" to valued strategic partner. What digital asset editing challenges are you facing? Have you found creative solutions to manage the complexities of multi-platform content? #DigitalEditing #EditorialWorkflow #ContentStrategy #AmEditing

Been using Photoshop for decades, finally getting around to finding my way through Lightroom. Gotta say, for exposure, color correction, white balance, etc., it's easier to use, and the results are pretty good.
