Dingo Party

Something fun :3 I recently learned that dingoes come in a variety of coat colors. While many people assume these different colors mean they’re crossbreeds, they’re actually all pure dingoes.

🐺 Dingoes aren’t dogs

A new study shows dingoes are not feral dogs but a distinct lineage on their own evolutionary path.

Genomic, behavioural and ecological evidence confirms they deserve recognition as Canis dingo or Canis lupus dingo.

Dingoes are not domestic dogs – new evidence shows these native canines are on their own evolutionary path
New research suggests dingoes are distinct enough to have their own scientific name. If this is accepted, it will have far-reaching consequences

Dingoes ARE NOT domestic dogs, multiple lines of evidence demonstrate this.

Dingoes ARE NOT ideal pets, they require extensive and special care.

Dingoes ARE very important to First Nations peoples, and Australia's ecosystems.

This proposed change is a very bad idea www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11...
Queensland considers changes that could see dingoes in dog parks
People could be allowed to keep dingoes as pets in Queensland under proposed changes to biosecurity regulations, but experts say the native animal is fundamentally different to domestic dogs.

Why you should love dingoes
Dingoes are loved and loathed in equal measure but there’s no question that conservation of the species is vital—for their own sake and for the overall health of the Australian environment. By Dr Phil...

Yet MORE evidence that dingoes ARE dingoes, NOT 'wild dogs'. Time to stop the disinformation?

"Our tests of over 300 free-roaming canines around Australia shows most carry overwhelmingly dingo ancestry. On average...88.3% dingo and just 11.7% domestic dog."

Ancient and modern dingo DNA reveals eight genetically distinct groups of dingoes – and the limited influence of domestic dog genes.
