sorry are you under the impression that the biology of dioecious trees correlates with human biology

Dog's Mercury, Mercurialis perennis, in Threehalfpenny Wood. Dog's Mercury is dioecious, and this is a male plant. #Wildflowerhour

Something positive

Pussy Willows

Willows are dioecious, meaning there are both male plants and female plants. Only male plants produce the fuzzy flower. 🍃

Cycads have been around since before the dinosaurs, they're a pre-flowering lineage that produces cones. Plants are dioecious, either male or female. This is because of woke.

Finally—and this is super cool!—saltbush, like many plants, are dioecious, so they have separate male and female plants. Except the four-winged saltbush is TRIOECIOUS. It has separate male and female plants but in response to environmental cues, the plants will just up and switch sex.

Female flowers of Buckthorn, Rhamnus cathartica. Buckthorn is dioecious, so male and female flowers are on separate trees. #WildflowerHour

Nice piece on the dioecious Goat Willow (Salix caprea) by @bbcspringwatch.bsky.social on BBC1 right now. It's also the primary larval foodplant of the spectacular Purple Emperor butterfly 😀

We can’t be IRL friends if you don’t love these bifurcating stigmas.

I spent a lot of time this week with Sedges, they're such beautiful plants. Here's a few I met: Flea Sedge, Star Sedge, False Fox Sedge, Carnation Sedge, Starved Wood Sedge, Dotted Sedge, Bog Sedge and the male and female Dioecious Sedge.

Wrote a whole thesis, and not once did I spell 'dioecious' correctly on the first try

Pussy willows (Salicaceae: Salix discolor) are dioecious, having separate male and female plants. Both sexes produce flowers in elongated, slender clusters known as catkins. Fertilized female catkins produce clusters of slender green fruit. Pinckney State Recreation Area, Michigan, 05 May 2013.

There are plenty of tropical fruit trees that are dioecious, but they don't grow here.

Amusingly, I can't smell whatever fouling agent is found in ginkgo fruit.

Out today! Our newly-described bush tomato #Solanum nectarifolium appears to be the first species in the genus with extrafloral nectaries that are visible to the naked eye. And ants seem to love 'em.

No #HedgerowChallenge for us on the peatland but instead a favourite peatland shrub.
The Bog Myrtle plants are mainly dioecious. This week the striking red male catkins brought a warm fiery glow to the fens of Anglesey.

Mercurialis perennis (Dog’s Mercury) typical in High Weald woods like ours. Dioecious - ours it seems is mainly a male preserve (luckily vegetative spread is possible). #WildflowerHour

🤓 The gardening word of the day is [Dioecious]:

Plants which have distinct unisexual individuals. Dioecious plants contain only either male or female reproductive structures in their flowers, not both. Flowers of dioecious plants are often referred to as "imperfect flowers"

One of my favorite #treeflowers: Goat Willow (Salix caprea). Being dioecious, it has separate male and female catkins—male on the left, female on the right. A great pollinator for bees and bumblebees #WildflowerHour

Hop, Humulus lupulus, at Mitcham Junction station. It is dioecious, so male and female flowers are on separate plants. This one is a male plant, so it won't develop the "cones" which of course have long been used to flavour beer. #Wildflowerhour
