I spent 3 hours with a cheap(!) Yihua 948 vacuum soldering station, hot air station, and various YouTube techniques trying to desolder a DIP32. No success until I figured out the right technique with the SS-02 Solder Sucker. The second DIP32 was out 10min.

Hurray! Weekend project complete and successful: DIP32 footprints installed after subjecting the PCB to hours of thermal torture and the scope still works! (Intermittently, but that’s why the operation was necessary to begin with…)

Here's everything all taken out (exploded view), the design is fantastic, everything is hinged allowing you easily get to components and service stuff. I'm just waiting in a new PLCC32 to DIP32 adapter to arrive before dumping the bios and reassembling it all.

I've successfully backed up my bios and I can see there is indeed space, but I'm not risking using the original EPROM, I'll purchase a M27C1001-15F1 DIP32 to experiment with at a later stage. It would however be awesome to have XT-IDE integrated into the motherboard bios chip!

You can get adapters that’ll convert the flash to DIP32.

Got this new cutie yesterday. Mostly unsupported by the open source tools, not even my own CMSIS distribution (rafaelmartins.com/p/cmsis-stm32/) ships headers for it yet. Lots of fun.

で引っかかったわ…CMOS 2M-BIT MASK Programmamable ROMとのこと。150nsのリード速度が有るらしい。
似たようなスペックで探したらIntelの20F020が引っかかった。リード速度150nsでDIP32のFlashMEMORYだ。
使用しているピンアサインだけ同じなら…（ぇ

とりあえず、データシートを探して保存した。
後でじっくり見比べつつ、もし入れ替え可能だったとしてもどうやってデータを書くか、検討しないとだ。

TSOP/DIP32 変換基板で ROM 変更が可能になったので、順番を飛ばして (3) Flash ROM 変更を先に処理。メモリ異常の時にどうなるのか、も確認したかった。増設せずに Grand Vimage 24-21S の ROM を焼いて起動してみると…画面が出る！けど VRAM 付けてない部分が交互に歯抜けになってる。面白い。

TSOP32 / DIP32 変換基板が欲しいがなかなか見つからない。そんなの普通にあるもんだと思ったけど…古い Video Card の BIOS Flash AT29C512 の変換がしたい。
