For the 5th year in a row I will be having Dipmas, a Christmas feast of just me and my wife composed of various dips. Baked brie. Spinach artichoke. Buffalo chicken. Hummus. It's snacky season.

I think we are doing Dipmas next year for Christmas Eve Brunch, and frankly, I am excited about that.
Family was brainstorming at brunch for next year — don’t let me forget Dipmas or Glizzmas as possibilities for meals.

Over the next four days I am making roast chicken and sundried tomato orzo, lasagna, buffalo chicken dip, hoagie dip, Grinch dip, spinach artichoke dip,cake batter dip, (for Merry Dipmas), an enormous beef brisket with an equally enormous amount of 4 cheese mac and cheese. I am preemptively tired. 😂

What a wonderful evening. After spending the day running errands, cooking, & cleaning, we went to my sister's in KC for her & her husband's annual Dipmas party. Lovely time, but the drive was wild – sudden bursts of driving snowfall which lasted maybe 30 seconds & then clear roads. Weird as hell.

I have to laugh about this, because "Dipmas" was what the guy from Massachusetts who was on the baseball team at Kenyon with me called his last big trip to the gas station before driving back for winter break.
He'd buy enough Skoal to last the whole break, because taxes were that much lower here.
