genshin 5.7 AQ spoilers:
the first quest to have consequences for the story and its a hard one to pick. if im understanding it right, giving the key keeps traveller and direidyth in the cycle, but eventually traveller keeps the key right? a recurring theme in the game is fate always triumphs

Direidyth is likely not only the link between the twins across space-time, but also potentially evidence there are additional dimensions (like a higher-level of space-time where Istaroth exists) that may explain the many paradoxes / anomalies / gaps in logic in this quest.

And, as many people have pointed out, Direidyth is suspicious:
- the flower in her hair looks different from the Inteyvat
- the timeline of her search for the Savior doesn't add up considering the Abyss Twin's presence in Khaenri'ah right before the cataclysm
- she questions the stars and fake sky

One line I think is particularly meaningful is where the Abyss Twin presents two possibilities:
Keep key -> traveler controls fate -> twins remain separate
Give key -> abyss twin controls fate -> twins reunite
Direidyth gets a key no matter what, but the difference is who chooses to give her it.
