Kirk, "Captain's Log, personal entry. Notice to ship's galley. No more novelty dishwear. I..."

...

"Bones, i need you. ... That's right, I mixed up the communicators again. Bring gauze."
No worries, I'll just buy two of the $80 Star Trek Communi-Graters to communicate with him.

May sound silly, but I really hope it wasn't one of your favorite plates.

I know from personal experience the pain of losing a favorite piece of dishwear.

I got plastic dishwear with bats on it that looks real cute and is microwave and dishwasher safe for like 25 cents a piece on a Halloween sale which is like hell yeah bc since it’s plastic I don’t have to worry about shattering it if I drop it lmao and I needed some for the move

if you want some fascinating discourse, look up lead in 1970s and 80s Corelle dishwear, specifically spring green flowers if you need to narrow it down

I'd like to give a big shoutout to the person that broke into our package containing a bunch of replacement dishwear for stuff we've broken over the last couple of years for A) not taking any of our plates, and B) not breaking any of them, either. Clean job, bub

Also, not every cute vintage collectors dishwear from the early 2000s (or before) that you find at the thrift is safe, their prints could contain lead that can come off onto your hands.
I even heard of some Frozen Elsa cup that tested positive for dangerous levels of lead in its print in ~2014?

Conspiracy! My son once had quite a, er, hectic debate online with an American girl who was scornful of our ‘pretentious boiling machines’ (kettles) and our ‘dishwear for eggs’ (eggcups)
