“We argue that the research process is inherently a story, that these narratives are often limited or hidden in traditional dissemination.”

New work by @gmvelez.bsky.social and @seamusapower.bsky.social argues for a “research-as-narrative framework.”

digitization is an amazing tool for dissemination and preservation, I love it personally and do almost all my reading on various e-readers now, but hopefully we have learned over the past decade that digital storage is not forever! also has costs and vulnerabilities! always have an analog backup!
Rebecca, why not digitize?

Because that takes resources too and I’m trying to solve a physical issue—publisher storage, library deacquisition (which always freaks ppl out), anxiety about disappearing archives.

Yes, post more here! 🙌
Visited twitter again briefly, and realized it has become quite terrible for dissemination of science.

Also to be clear if this is a translation & dissemination paper for the crowds with some updates that's a perfectly fine paper, imho.

I'd graduated a few years before the inquiry was completed. I am in utter disbelief that uncritical dissemination of the pseudoscience in question was even considered acceptable after extensive review. Who greenlit this?!

Yeah, someone had custody over that recording and its rapid dissemination was either within rules and the rules should be re-examined or it was improperly leaked for self-interest

The internet and social media are the greatest tools for the dissemination of misinformation by Dunning-Kruger 'experts' ever invented. In more simplistic terms "My info from social media" equals or betters years of real study and knowledge.

Meanwhile, the Press Clause, along with legislative affordances like the Post Office Act of 1792, encouraged the dissemination of those and other works, allowing democratic publics to stay informed, to "canvass the merits" of public officials and policies, and to vote accordingly.

If you haven’t heard of it yet, there’s a website called ao3 .life.
Among other things, it creates AI-GENERATED audio books of our fics and then SELLS them to their listeners.

At least fifteen of my stories are up there. This is, imo, the bad-faith dissemination that I’m 100% against.
