I do wonder when the believing who someone is and says they are, and repeatedly shows you to be, translates in the other direction, and to letting them in. i mean, i can think of counterpoints (it relies on them all having similarish enough psychology to humans to get fucked up by it, and even if they did it assumes "instant long-distance communication with no gatekeeping" is inherently corrosive in general and not the specific incentives we've made)
