#diynamics
I had never thought a late bzw. incomplete arrival of wf state could condition community diynamics, but makes a lot of sense. 3rd way soz a la Blair/Schröder was happily aborted. Nowadays people is trying hard to link workers' fight of the 70s with 15M & current challenges such as housing and clima.

A flower made of von Kármán vortices.

This is a motorized lazy Susan filled with a rheoscopic solution. It’s only about 1cm deep and the pencil serves as the stationary obstacle.

[2/4] it is a rotating shallow water #experiment, essentially the lazy Susan is powered by a #LEGO motor, and filled with a #rheoscopic fluid. Here's the setup:

I attended a DIYnamics workshop at the earth educators rendezvous and played with the Lego motors using rotation tanks. I was able to order a class set of motors and tanks. The lab was a huge hit with students. I’m gonna look into adding this sphere rotation into my space units. Thanks for posting.

Who else out there enjoys their #KitchenOceanography? Or, the little more advanced #DIYnamics, where a LEGO motor rotates a lazy susan to simulate the influence of Earth's rotation on ocean and atmosphere dynamics? This may be the greatest toy ever invented... mirjamglessmer.com/remotely-con...
