tetramorium immigrans!

my best colony so far, this one is nearing 3 years old I think? I had to move them into a terrarium since then, too many |3

i think all sorts of bugs are cool, but I'm WAY into ANTS.
I like digging, I like cross sections, and watchin little things cooperate, guess that makes sense

so I started collecting queens and trying to raise colonies!

I even got pretty good at the first part, at least.

i finally tracked down the camponotus castaneus nest the workers i saw were coming from, now to stake them out for queens later owo

all the carpenter ant queens i've caught are black or partly red but these are bright orange and live in dirt :3 #dogbugs
