Being goofy and talking about the excitement to read a book; #hardrainfalling by #doncarpenter printed by @nyrb-imprints.bsky.social - #funny #reading #bookrecs

The solitary confinement passage in Hard Rain Falling is devastating—Jack's isolation, rage, and despair are rendered with brutal, unflinching power. Few novels capture the crushing weight of solitude like this. #LiteraryGrit #DonCarpenter

Not your typical tough kid grows up story. I found this an engaging read with unexpected character evolution. Again, NYRB publishing really has some great titles I never knew about until I browsed their collection. 🤓

If you’ve never read him, start now. Hard Rain Falling hits like a punch and stays with you for miles. Bleak, yes—but somehow still full of hope. #DonCarpenter #LitLife #GutenbergsEcho #SubscribeToday
