I maintain that TLJ is far less of a swerve from TFA than the conventional wisdom now says and with a coherent TRIS, even the subpar DotF, it probably wouldn’t really be seen as a significant swerve at all
The sequels are an anti-trilogy, TFA is about course correcting from the prequels, TLJ is about course correcting from TFA, and TROS is about course correcting from TLJ! Genuinely a baffling series of decisions
Since we’re doing Star Wars discourse, here’s my take: the sequels suck because they don’t actually try to tell a story.
The original series, both individually, and as an arc, tell a basic heroes journey story. It’s not anything particularly new, but it’s certainly a serviceable storyline to tell.

actual interesting TROS topics (imo)
-what was deal-breaker on DotF
-who was giving the notes on DotF that were already steering it towards TROS in 2nd draft (Coruscant excised, scope of stormtrooper rebellion shrunk, added alt baddie dyad could team up against)
-what was there before Rey Palps

So what happens now with my comics?
For the first version of CTC, I'll be archiving it on Webtoon. CTC will otherwise be unaffected, as it is self-published. For DPS Only!!! and DOTF, I’m unsure. I'm still waiting to hear back from Tapas. The books will still sell as normal with PRH and AMP.

How could I possibly hate DOTF when it has Luna employing manipulative dead wife tactics to bring Ardyn to heel

I was shocked, I'd just celebrated the DOTF book release with them. We were starting Season 3. No one told me. Then I learned the people at Tapas were also taken by surprise.
Many know Tapas as one of the only "legal" ways to read manhwas, but to me it was a hub for aspiring webcomic creators.

you can feel them trying to institute it in the DotF draft and there's just no pleasure in it

I will do everything I can from my end to make sure DPSO and DOTF is still available to read online. As for Season 3, I’m certain it will be on hold for a while.
It’s not a happy announcement, but it’s not a happy time for the Tapas staff and creators who were blindsided. Livelihoods are at risk.

JJ Abrams probably could have just made DUEL OF THE FATES and stuck the landing for an uneven trilogy. DotF is flawed, to be sure, but it's also, you know, not an anti-movie like RoS is
Yeah, very obviously The Last Jedi envisages a time skip, and one big hint as to that is that Duel of the Fates...has one.

I can see why some people thought it was too vague or chalked it up to him being called a eunuch but I wanted to make the distinction clear that boy is trans and he’s an absolute fucking disaster thank you for your time
