The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

some more context as orig post is blowing up: Jung has a reputation as a loudmouth and has made many rivals in the DPK. DPK itself has many factions but post-coup and post-LJM inauguration they have made a concerted effort to unite behind LJM. Korean history shows that usually doesn't last long

I have no idea what an efficacious message is or isn't, but I will say that if we're at the point where the use of the military to occupy opposition cities can't be opposed directly because of anti-crime politics, we're probably fucked in the long run, whatever else happens.
Ask and you shall receive. I was sent a polling/strategy memo that is being circulated in DC. It offers advice to Dems on Trump sending the National Guard to DC. "Distract" is used 10 times. "Stunt" four. I'll try to post it later, but I assume others have it as well.
