confession: i'm not actually good enough at super metroid anymore to even complete a speedrun, i start to struggle when i hit maridia then bounce off of draygon completely for lack of energy and ammo

Draygon, enemy of Samus in Super Metroid
And Draygon is an interesting case where fighting as intended is challenging? But once you find out you can just kill him with the Grapple Beam and aim it towards parts of the arena; he goes out incredibly easy. I mean... it's funny, but I wouldn't exactly say it's great boss design imo.

But most of the bosses are either pretty frustrating or extremely easy. Phantoon and Draygon being the worst examples on both camps. Phantoon has a very annoying undpredictable attack pattern with so much of his attacks feeling almost outright impossible to avoid.

Draygon who the only one left that have not enter 3D while the other 3 of that Golden Statue in Super Metroid did enter 3D in mainline games. Let’s hope that it will finally be 3D after 30 years in time for Metroid 6/Metroid Ravenous as it has potential idea in 3d glory debut yet as of 2026 for now

BOLD PREDICTION:
Dread brought back Kraid, Other M brought back Phantoon.
Ridley... is famously in the Resurrection VIP Club eating steak and brie with Sigma, Ganon and Dracula.
You know what that means: Ravenous is DRAYGON'S TIME, baby!! 2027 is the YEAR OF DRAYGON!!

the thing about the Draygon quick kill is that it’s soooooo cheap but it’s also soooooooooo cool that it even exists. this game is so fucking cool guys, I don’t know if anyone’s ever said this before

new pb by a minute yay. p good run could save time on draygon and croc (or learn a route that skips croc) and some minor movement things (eaten by plants a few times and grabbed by one metroid). yay bea sub 45 possible probably

If they have to bring back anybody for Ravenous, why not Draygon (even though I’m pretty certain she’s also dead)? She’s got children to feed and is the only of the big five baddies of that game to not make a reappearance.

itd be really funny now that ridley and kraid are like definitively dead if ravenous just has someone like Draygon or Phantoon as the throwback boss

i had an interest in super metroid for its horror. and it also has good gross monster girl designs (draygon, mother brain). so seeing samus join the team of feral women (still being a hero however). is ah. interesting :)

If Draygon didn't have a cheese associated with it, J'd extra avoid Super Metroid for that fight too

draygon quick kill is in but it's just an animation that plays out after a specific parry and samus does a minimum of two backflips along the way
