Yep. And DRDOS. Windows wasn't a thing at the time. Amstrad had a relationship with DR so got a good deal on both GEM and DRDOS.
Microsoft came a knocking, Alan told them to go away. To this day he can't reveal what he knocked Microsoft down to but it was *very* favourable so he bundled both DOS's

And DRDOS. I must have used it for 8086 (no x86 back then) development when I coded The Hunt for Red October. I never did have a 68000 game published despite working on some. My C64 games were written using PDS.

with how spyware and not personal microsoft has made windows now, i agree with this. to the point where if i want a microsoft os to use, its gonna be dos on a XT machine, and even then drdos exists, and is much better imo when i was using it a bit in both real hardware and pcem.

I think I used CPM86 on it although it did also have DRDOS.

Kind of works on the +3 but the lack of a proper 80 column display kills it. It was Amstrad who extended its life by getting very favourable licensing costs when DR were losing to MS. Such a cosy relationship in fact the PC1512 was set to ship with DRDOS.
