Drivers in the South East of England are facing lengthy delays on the motorway this morning, with warnings that the closure will remain in place for hours. The M20 in Kent is closed eastbound between J8 Hollingbourne Interchange (Lenham, A20; Maidstone Services) and J9 Drovers Interchange (Ashford, A20; Faversham, A251). ### This is due to a collision and a subsequent car fire, with emergency services currently at the scene. National Highways has outlined that there are delays of 30 minutes and approximately three miles of congestion. ### TRENDING Stories Videos Your Say ### The serious collision has prompted Kent Police to launch a full accident investigation, based on information from the scene. National Highways has warned that the closure is expected to remain in place "for a number of hours". The transport organisation stated: "If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time.
