Je zou het bijna vergeten, maar Foghat is van oorsprong een Engelse band. Maar al voor hun debuutalbum verhuisden ze naar de VS en daar zijn ze gebleven. En met een flinke smak southern rock in hun sound was dat ook wel de logische plek. Ook voor Europese muziekliefhebbers geldt echter dat ze dik de moeite waard zijn. Als je ze niet kent, moet je zeker eens naar _Live_ uit 1977 luisteren. Ik vind dat album echt bij de klassieke livealbums horen. Anno 2026 hebben ze nog één origineel lid, drummer Roger Earl, en zijn de andere drie Amerikanen. Maar ook deze vier hebben de oude sound, met de kenmerkende swing erin, kunnen behouden. Op 30 oktober verschijnt hun tiende livealbum, _Live & Loud Across The U.S.A._, met daarop “My Babe” van het album _Fool For The City_ uit 1975. Dat was destijds hun vijfde studioalbum in vier jaar.
