Running list of good lore that "fits" wow classic imo but was introduced after vanilla: Draenei, Drust, Zandalar, Kul Tiras (smaller versions of these), gay centaurs, valkyr (undead version), Dar'khan, naaru, Highmountain, Denathrius, xal'atath (knife version), Arathi maybe.

At this point I want everything for everyone but am sad that blizz won't ever want to spend the resources making pally and druid stuff for the remaining races. Gnome pally might come, and I think you could justify Forsaken druid as a Drust adjacent situation, but alas

It does make one miss something more grounded and not so altruistic. BfA has a mountain of problems, but I did always enjoy the petty wartime espionage type missions, or if we want a non-"WAR IN WARCRAFT" example, all of the Drust witch stuff in Drustvar. Uncovering an actual horror story slowly.

I’m a little disappointed that Tale Bound witch isn’t like the actual drust witches. They’re more like cartoony stereotypes instead.. a cauldron with frogs?? Why not wicker beasts?!?

We also see what happens from the other side of this in Ardenweald: the Mists (fueled by Anima) are depleting, and we see the drust & the gorm devouring the withering woods— the Loa of Knowledge devoured by a gorm is what gestates the Enlightenment
