I asked about Dufaycolor and a collector who has some said that it has a distinct dot pattern not present in THE MAGIC WAND.

So, I remain baffled.

A Colour Box.

Filmed in 1935 using the Dufaycolor film process, A Colour Box was an early example of a marriage of abstract and commercial art, with filmmaker Len Lye hand painting images directly onto film, syncing the imagery with the soundtrack already on the film.

Random Early Colour Films.

Filmed in 1938 - a time sadly gone by - in gloriously washed-out Dufaycolor, here’s a touching look at UK farms in the film short English Harvest.

Someone asked about the "screen pattern" mentioned in this post and yeah, it's not very obvious at display res. Here's a close up that will give you a better view of how the images are structured:

Today's #foundphotofriday is an unidentified strip of transparency film, likely Dufaycolor based on the screen pattern. (1/2)

Obviously, this is very cool and futuristic. But the film itself was a variant of the pre-Kodachrome Dufaycolor process, which produced a colour image using black & white emulsion on a film base striped with a pattern of red, green & blue (as seen here). It is still very cool. (2/2)

20/ While at the Dorchester, she made several His Master's Voice recordings with the orchestra and appeared in Radio Parade of 1935 (1934), the first British theatrical film to feature the short-lived Dufaycolor, but Hunter's segment was one of only two in color.
