realising why roland jazz choruses are like that, the asymmetrical wobblies to break up cone resonance, the insanely solid huge dustcap designed almost as a tweeter, so that even if the cone lags, the dustcap reproduces treble sounds non-diffuse and the result is almost flat

scanning away from the center of the dustcap doesn't provide any significantly better tones, need to explore the other side of the same speaker later and then find the exact center and explore the vertical axis too

Awww thats super wholesome! I've actually never heard of this cartoon but it sounds like a really cool one. I realise I made a mouse character a year ago and never finished it. I'm thinking I should because they are cool little dudes. Dustcap is an adorable name for a character.

they really are right, G12T-series speakers, or large dustcap guitar speakers in general, tend to sound way more direct in the room than they do on a recording
we're used to the translation we get from the G12T, the vintage 30s sound maybe 1.5x as direct in the room but 10x as direct recorded

the G12T-100/T-75/B-150/K-100/65/oh god there's so many speakers in this genre thing is just that none of these are bad guitar speakers, they are in fact very good guitar speakers, they are incredibly difficult to /record/ well and always sound more distant, because of cone+dustcap geometry
