I'll be focusing mostly on Ace Combat when that properly drops (I didn't go for early access) but man a big part of me wants to just play DW3 for 9000 hours.

Is it still worth picking up? I remember the DW3 timed demo (on a demo disc, no less!) back in the day, but never got around to picking it up properly and trying it.
Sounds like a weird decision by them :/

I replayed DW3 with a buddy and we got absolutely pincushioned by archers, so I can’t WAIT to pick up the snazzy new version.
I legitimately think the high difficulty makes it one of the most rewarding musou games. I bounced off of a lot of the others because they lacked that friction.

It's fun going back to DW3 and having a group of enemies juggle me for like a solid 10 seconds and completely drain my health from full before I can do anything. I missed that.

God I missed DW3's absolute B-movie quality, oh so glad they didn't change a lick of the script. Master strategist Zhuge Liang saying to just "fight harder" has me in tears.
...
Also more of a remake than Oblivion was, just saying.

Great list!!!!
I remember renting DW7 from the local video place a bunch of times not long after it came out, having only played DW3 on an emulator previously and was enraptured by it. It still has a hold on me all these years later though I’ve never beaten the original DW7!

Today I learned that there is a remaster of DW3, and that I'm still better off playing the original on my Retroid.

So confirming by ear that the DW3 remastered is using the same dub as the original version is forcing my hand into action, wasn't swayed to pay much more for the PS2 /models/ but I love that they're an option and it doesn't feel like when Crash tries to use the PS1 model pastiche and fucks it up LOL

Against potential better judgements I am excited to eventually get my hands on this after hearing your praises, I'm so relieved they actually put thought into it and didn't just essentially make a DW3 skin pack with a full price game admission

Looking forward to hitting DW3 remaster after work. My personal favorite of the series and pretty different in flavor and difficulty compared to those that came after.

Posting combos from fighting games for everyday of 2026 | DAY 274
- Dynasty Warriors (again)
(DW3 remaster is out, lessgo. Also, DW3 here is actually DW2 in Japan because DW2 here is actually DW1 there..... because DW1 here is a fighting game. Also, Xiahou Dun is cool af.)

I'd like it on record that I am using all of the restraint to not just play DW3:CE right now and I'm waiting till I can start stream like a good lil' human because oh boy do I reaaaaally want to play it right this instant.
It will get played off stream after the first one, that is for certain.

It wouldn't have changed much if DW3 was a N64 game instead of a PS1 game.

As a long time Dynasty Warriors fan…it is weird to me to see DW3 remaster getting good reviews. I went through that long era where every DW game was torn apart by reviewers for just being the same game and button mashing. Maybe the kids today yern for games that feel like games again.

Ngl that Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered might be one of the best remasters of all time just from the demo.
Trust me, if you like DW3 you gonna LOVE the remaster

DW3 came out around, well, September 2001. I had just started college. Me and a guy picked it up and it kindled a friendship that's lasted to this day, and a love of musou titles and Chinese culture that's never left me. I love this series so much.
