DXIW has such a weak story but it doesn't matter because I get to see Paul and that's literally all I care about

Finished DXIW today for my first time (I know, I know, I just heard bad things about it so...)
It's not *that* bad. It's very obviously made for consoles with the small maps which is annoying.
Story was...interesting, to say the least, but there is a single brain cell between all three Dentons

It's the same guy who did sneaky upgrade if I recall. I believe the end goal is to have that replace the broken up hub world map in the main game.
He also did visible upgrade for Dxiw and I think deadly shadows modding is just gonna taking up all his time rn

DXIW kinda got the opposite from what I understand. Well received at first, but then disliked later. Which is a shame because I love it

They should have done Invisible War instead.
DXIW without the OG Xbox console limitations holding the game back would vastly improve it.
No more absurdly tiny levels. Merge the levels together with no load zones in-between, like the Thief 3 Gold mod. Etc.

Oh I got plenty:
Thief 2014
Syndicate (the FPS)
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Driv3r
Lost Planet 3
These do ALL have issues, but I liked em anyway. And for some, like DXIW, they actually got decent reviews, but on the forums I frequented they were just met with heaps of scorn.

Yup same, although I shoved so much CC into Sims 3 it doesn't run anymore. Sims 2 is my jam, I was working on a Takemura sim recently actually 😅
The old ones are fun! DXIW is definitely a Game™ but...it's worth at least trying
Gimme the fic 👀👀👀👀
Have you read the hitman novels?

Yeah, for those for whom that's ancient history (semi-sarcastic) the XBox was the first console they were promoting as "a PC in a box, you can develop for both at the same time" and DXIW was one of the first games to try and promote that. It was a mess.

On the subject of the bands I should really do more of, Jupiter Kirk is on top. My take on #deathrock, which remains my favorite subgenre of goth rock / post-punk. Here's my favorite.
