Washing a lot of blue out plus picking some brownish greens for the second figure. Managed to finish absolutely nothing. #artquilt #fungus #dyepainting

I alternated ironing fungi and washing out a dye painting tonight…worked well. #artquilt #fungi #dyepainting

I feel like I ironed forever, but somehow I’m still in the 299s. And I repainted the brown on this piece. Hopefully it sticks this time. #artquilt #fungus #dyepainting

I finished another quilt Saturday that I’d been working on during the residency, plus I enlarged one of the drawings, which will be the next quilt. #artquilt #embroidery #dyepainting #fungi

Yup. I finished painting at 8:30 PM, was in awe of the sky, and hung out with the crew, then stared up at the night sky until we saw enough shooting stars. Hard to leave tomorrow…um, I guess it’s today. #artquilt #dyepainting #playaatsummerlake

We officially have one full day left here…it’s been amazing, but I started another painting (crazy), we did studio tours, talked about our work, half the Playa was smoky, half wasn’t. I washed out yesterday’s crazy color concoction. I’ll miss this place. #artquilt #dyepainting #playaatsummerlake

Washed the glue thing out, painted another one. Apparently I have to stop soon so I can go home. Ugh. #artquilt #dyepainting #playaatsummerlake

A more complicated glue resist, a walk on the Playa, plus I started another dye painting and washed out yesterday’s. Lots to work on for tomorrow. #artquilt #dyepainting #playaatsummerlake

Paisley Caves (very cool), bones, a crazy dye painting that might be upside down (I’ll decide later), and three experiments. Plus dinner with the crew. Good headspace. #artquilt #dyepainting #embroidery #playaatsummerlake

Still experimenting, because if not out here, when will I be able to? Printed an impression from the Playa, did some other wacky stuff with dyes, drew some fungi, and went to the hot water springs…did NOT go in those bathtubs. #artquilt #dyepainting #drawing #playaatsummerlake

Washed two weird things out from yesterday, hand stitched for about 4 hours, played with some glue for resist, and drove an hour to get groceries. #artquilt #dyepainting #embroidery #playaatsummerlake

You know, I hadn’t used the purple dye yet…and now I have. Weird day, but got lots done. Painted, washed out, breathed less smoky air, swam, spent too much time wondering about the effect of men on women, enjoyed a full moon, and stitched. #artquilt #dyepainting #playaatsummerlake

Aiming for a dye painting a day…smoke from fires was bad today, but I did some fabric things and even got up early to look at birds. #dyepainting #artquilt #playaatsummerlake
