Hathor was a major ancient Egyptian goddess of love, beauty, music, dancing, fertility, and pleasure. As a cosmic mother goddess, she was known as the "mistress of the sky," a protector of women, and the "Eye of Ra" (a protector of the sun god). She was often depicted as a cow, a woman with cow ears/horns, or a cow-headed woman.
