#e-mobility
"I finished my heavy cream daddy! 🐷 Can you cashapp me so I can buy a few pizzas???"

You had been online feeding a repulsive "e-kitten" shut-in NEET blob for years. You robbed him of his mobility and future with every bite. He was addicted to you as he was food. You couldn't wait to visit him.

This is my other hot e-mobility take.

Most long tail-style bikes are more dangerous parked than moving.

Just yesterday at kindergarten drop-off, I saw two instances where a dad had to grab a bike to keep it from landing on his kid.
If there is a *real* risk from actual, legal Class 2 e-bikes, it's from them tipping over onto toddlers trying to climb onto the back.

The kickstands for most long tail-style e-bikes are wildly insufficient for their weight distribution.

Accessible micromobility.

Small sit-down scooters. Full-size mobility scooters. E-trikes. Hell, even golf carts. Ways for those who can't walk, stand, or balance for very long to get around without cars (their own or someone else's).
Now that we're in Woke 3.0, what's your dream transportation policy or idea? Sure, ban cars, but what would you like to see in your fantasy version of events? There are no wrong answers, only good and absolutely outstanding answers. Go for it.
November 6, 2026 at 4:52 PM
Agreed, but put all micro-mobility on the list! E-scooters, e-bikes, e-boards, e-unicycles, e-recumbents, etc.

It’s also going to mean we are going to have to take more lanes from cars, not shove new faster users into dense ped shared use areas.

We need new kinds of lanes! +
The narrow window that has defined what a cyclist is and what kind of bike you should ride has been the downfall of the bicycle industry.

Ebikes are changing people's minds about what is possible on 2 and 3 wheels.

Cycling isn't just for one "in group", its for everyone.

Right-wing populists in the EU have sabotaged the ramp-up of e-mobility and are seeking to further weaken CO2 limits. Meanwhile, the "dead horse" of e-fuels is being trotted out once again.

No one had anticipated Trump. I hope the boom continues.

Oh and I'm 70 and also use it. Do I count as elderly?

FWIW I see a lot more older people on sit down scooters than e-bikes. I think the bikes have an intimidation factor for some with limited mobility. Not to mention the scooters are often more compact.

I was about to reply to their posts but I see they disallowed that, at least from non-followers. And I'm right behind you, because if there's an e-scooter blocking even part of a sidewalk I'll drag that shit out of the way. We already treat people with mobility issues like garbage.

I'm glad you have mobility assistance. I would love to be a fan of e-bikes. But I assume you aren't one of the many who endanger me, a pedestrian, by riding at dangerous speeds while passing without any audible alert.

I am still recovering from injuries received in July when an e-bike buzzed me.

"Replacing combustion engines with electric vehicles won't automatically make our cities better places to live.

The e-mobility transition also raises questions about parking, fleet management and who gets to use urban space.

Discussing this at #TMWC26⚡"

I'll chime in that the use case for long-tails is greatly exaggerated. Regular-geometry bikes can carry a lot with appropriate racks, and trailers are a fine solution for infrequent cases when a bike rack is insufficient. A lot of long-tails look like people suv-braining their way into e-mobility.
November 4, 2026 at 8:22 PM
So you change the road so they don’t speed, or we put governors on devices, etc. There is a way through all of this. If people want e-mobility we have to find ways to deliver it safely. Which means being honest about human nature, accept we need more space from cars, rejoice 4 climate implications!
