No SCSI, but it does have FireWire so I don’t need to suffer with USB 1.1.
Picked up one of the nice old OWC enclosures that had USB 3.0, eSata, and FireWire 800. That thing is fantastic, can essentially ensure I’m getting the best possible speeds from any era of device I connect it with.

10年以上前から使ってる、マーシャルのUSB2.0/eSATA外付けHDDケース。
一定時間アクセスが無いと、スリープ（HDDの回転を止める）機能があったんだけど、eSATA接続で使ってる時に不具合あったから、確かその機能を止めて、スリープに入らないようになってた。
しかし、10年以上使ってて、今USB2.0接続にしたら、またその機能が動き出した。
でも、どうやって機能を設定したのか覚えがない。
もしくはPC側で何かOSの設定を変えてて、今回別のPCに繋いだせいなのか。
あー解らん😕

Yep, SATA supports hotplug. Some motherboards require you enable eSATA on the ports or they will be disabled by the BIOS if empty at POST… but it works.

Unfortunately the connection to the expansion unit is eSATA, and limited to the bandwidth of just 6gbps. With four drives, you could absolutely saturate it. So that’ll be a scratch volume, probably. Nothing that needs high performance. I don’t even remember the last time I used eSATA. Decades ago?

okay i have probably gotten a little too comfortable plugging my expensive electronics (sata ssd) into aliexpress electronics (esata cable that seems to have triggered an emergency dfu mode, even after plugging it back into the actual sata port)

A friend of mine saved these decommissioned workstations from the GRINDER. Yes. They were going to be SHREDDED for being too old.
They each have integrated Intel and dedicated GeForce k2000 2gb, 5 usb's, vga, hdmi, dport, firewire, eSata, mSata + the docking station that adds 2 usb-3. o.o MONSTER!
