What are we measuring at easyXAFS?

Sulfur Kβ XES of ZnS, Na₂SO₄, CuS, and Cu₂S measured with the easyXAFS Brimstone spectrometer. The peak near 2453 eV in Na₂SO₄ indicates sulfur-oxygen bonds, and its presence in CuS shows oxidation.

XES Fe Kβ (Kbeta) spectra of Fe oxides (Fe2O3) at low weight percentages in carbon binder (PEG) as low as 0.25 wt. % Fe.
Measurement time of 4 mins per sample, XES is well suited for low elemental concentrations.
