@belovedasheville1.bsky.social is stepping up as usual for the Asheville community. With folks not receiving their SNAP benefits, they found a way to not just hand folks a box of food, but to provide people with opportunity to choose own food based on their allergies, cultural, & other needs.
Why We Created the EAT Card It started with a simple truth — food is not "one-size-fits-all." We saw children with allergies, families with unique comfort food needs, and individuals whose bodies required something special to nourish them. We also saw another reality: many of our neighbors are still waiting to receive their SNAP benefits, facing empty shelves and hard choices. That's when we decided to act. Instead of giving only what was available, we chose to give the power to choose. That's when we decided to take a new path - to invest in access. Through gift cards, we're creating freedom - the freedom to choose food that fits your health, your culture, and your heart. = ; The EAT Card isn't just about meals.
