I second this. Scavenger's Reign is worth watching. It brings a much needed ecocentrism to our science fiction. It's creative and engaging. I wish it had explored more non-Western attitudes toward the non-human, but I enjoyed it a lot.
THE TIME HAS COME
I am begging everyone to watch Scavengers Reign when it releases on Netflix May 31st.

Yes, streaming is the devil but this show is something special and the more eyes on it will not only get to see probably the best scifi animated series ever made but will help get it another season.

Lysaker offers a strong argument for reimagining democracy as ecocentrism in practice, grounded in ecological love. He challenges readers to break the anthropocentric paradigm, advocating for a democracy that is inclusive, holistic, harmonious and responsive to climatic problems.

2. Environmentalism & Political Theory: Towards an Ecocentric Approach - Robyn Eckersley

This is an invaluable volume for understanding green political theory, from socialism to anarchism and ecofeminism, and instrumentalism to ecocentrism. Clearly expressed.

Devoted Earth friend & a co-editor of @ecologicalcitizen.bsky.social Ian Whyte has passed away this Thursday. His path to ecocentrism has been informed by a lifelong passion for all the wild and he has had a long time interest in wild flowers, birds, moths, butterflies, turtles & bumblebees. RIP

Indeed, "tipping worldviews to 'ecocentrism'", as the article also says, is key!

This is good. I would have to read the original source closely, but I'm not sure there's much daylight between the "situated anthropocentrism" advocated here and ecocentrism, which just asserts that nature has value independent of human value.

Technology as a curse or a blessing? Ecocentrism versus post-anthropocentrism? We don't have a crystal ball...so we have to lead the debate with belief systems in the present.

I’m open to good faith discussions about biocentrism, ecocentrism & considering sentience beyond the animal kingdom.

But sadly, much of the time, they’re driven by people desperate to justify the exploitation of obviously sentient animals.

Which none of these stances can do.
