Feels like they're holding up this entire rotting edifice

I just realized that if the current Maine senator loses, she’ll also lose her animating force, & her edifice will start trembling, collapsing in sheets, & we’ll be left with a mere pile of impossibly fine dust. So that’s fun!

Sulz is the Jerry Jones of newspaper journalism, a weak king of shit mountain sitting atop a crumbling edifice held up only by reputation built on things that happened more than a quarter century ago

Whoa, thanks for the love on this everyone! Here's a proper scan of the sketch. I hope you all had a good Halloween!

I’m in no way saying that is the modal likely outcome (in fact probably quite the contrary), but also sometimes when the edifice gives way, it gives way completely. 2/

We shouldn’t have had to construct an entire philosophical/political edifice around a simple idea like ‘bigotry is bad’, much less fought several wars over it.

"so what made you realise you were trans?"

the sea and the wind may crash against a wall of solid rock for centuries without any visible change until all at once some unseen structure within gives way and the once impenetrable edifice comes crashing down

Lisbon - November 1, 1755

Every trump edifice needs to be torn down to the ground including the Republican party.
November 1, 2026 at 11:58 PM
This is the moment the Dems should try to strike deals with a number of individuals across the chambers. If they can get 13 Republican senators to ditch Trump, then the while edifice will come down.

The entire exit poll edifice crumbled for good in '16.

Le nouveau complexe de «La maison de la culture de l'eau» (10 piscines publiques intérieures/extérieures dans le même édifice) qui ouvre incessamment au centre-ville de Copenhague est plutôt joli. vilhelmlauritzen.com/collection-o...

It should be illegal to legislate about benefits unless you can prove you've claimed them yourself. But the entire, diseased edifice of British Britain would collapse if toffs and psychos weren't in charge. And what a loss that'd be to the world.

In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

“President Trump’s proposed arch is just another chapter in the long history of heroic architecture pressed into the service of ideology,” Thomas Campanella writes in a guest essay.
Opinion | The Rise and Fall of the Triumphal Arch

I predict that, when the entire absurd ideological edifice comes crashing down, as surely it must, these people will be among the loudest to claim that they had always had their doubts, and never been assimilated into the collective.

Third presented a daunting edifice to my teenage 1970s self. Although its unfamiliar terrain often left me struggling for a handhold, that was part of its appeal. While subsequent decades have smoothed some of its irregular surfaces, it nevertheless retains much of that sense of mystery and danger.
