Hey wait a second, that reminds me of the stage 1 midboss from Einhänder. The Greif, it came much later, but it's also a transforming suit. When I study it there are fewer similarities in shape, but it's what I initially thought of.

Calling it now that the purpose of that “Lenneth” image in the XIV Evercold keynote isn’t for a collab or a one-off boss fight like Einhander but someone perhaps Lagertha (totally not Ysayle) awakening as a Valkyrie.

like I played Einhänder as part of the Kingdom Hearts true play order and that game is a shmup and I really liked that game a lot

If I had to pick just one, Tyrian 2000.
Otherwise, Descent 1 and 2, Jumping Flash 1 and 2, Metal Storm, Space MegaForce/Super Aleste, Zenith (yes, CD-i game of all things), Live A Live, MegaRace, and Einhander are also neat games imo.
And I have more I can say about every single one if wanted lol.
