If you're on the octopus tariff, opt in for the "electroverse" card and it makes it really easy and slightly cheaper on public charging.
You don't need any apps (maybe the electroverse one to find the chargers) and you just present the card to the charger and it goes on to your utility bill.

Some of these “discounts” are actually widely available if you use the CPO app at many times of the year. MFG for example has been “discounted” to 59p if you use their app for over a month.
It’s worth checking both Electroverse and the native app before you plug in.

Also even on autoroutes power isn't the absolute rip off it's in the UK. 50 cents/kWh rather than 90p. Octopus electroverse card worked fine. Can now v.slow charge at the Gite for a small supplement via the 'Granny' cable
