Elephant ear plants (genus Colocasia, Alocasia, or Xanthosoma) are tropical perennials known for their large, heart-shaped leaves that resemble an elephant's ear, hence the name. These plants are commonly grown for their striking foliage and can add a lush, tropical feel to gardens or indoor spaces. Here are some key points about elephant ear plants: - Size: The leaves can grow very large, sometimes reaching up to 3 feet long or more, depending on the species. - Light: Elephant ears thrive in bright, indirect light, although some species can tolerate full sun. They do well in partial shade as well.
