There's a 9-11 story about stockbrokers who were trapped in an elevator with a janitor inside WTC tower on 9/11.
They got the elevator door open, but were blocked by a blank wall on the other side.
It took the janitor to realize "That's just 1/2 inch drywall". So he cut a hole and they escaped.
