🎌 As it is World Vexillology Day I thought I would share both an international inspired flag design and an international flag form; a Japanese nobori flag featuring my Kamon inspired emblazonment of the Scottish lion rampant.

Very cool emblazonment style! With every new arms I see, I'm more determined to commission you for an emblazonment one day!

I feel like "emblazonment" doesn't fit (because that means adorning something with the image specified by a blazon) but "flag design" and "logo design" don't work either (because depending on how specific it is the same blazon can branch into multiple designs with different designers)

For Sibling's Day today I thought I'd continue with another tartan backed piece. My emblazonment for two Ross brothers, each with their own grant of arms, on their Clan's Hunting Tartan

I have had the great pleasure recently of commissioning another emblazonment of my father's arms, this time from the wonderful @heraldry_by_frax (www.instagram.com/heraldry_by_...)!

I am absolutely thrilled with the results for this piece!

Why use AI to generate a flag when you can do so precisely, quickly, and using a centuries-old markup language called heraldic blazonry?

Ah I had wondered if it was 'Black Hole Sun' with the golden rays. Anyway, very nice job with the emblazonment!

I heard that it's hip to be square.

Square emblazonment of my personal coat of arms.

To celebrate #PolishFlagDay I thought I'd try an experimental emblazonment, based on the famed Winged Hussar's. These are the arms of RossMcEwen's Polish wife - herself previously employed by the Radziwiłł princely family - placed on a background of Polish Tartan

In honour of the #tartanday parade in New York over the weekend, and the forthcoming Clan Logan convention later this month, I am delighted to share my emblazonment for the arms of their last known Chief on their clan tartan.

It has been a huge privilege to be involved in such an important moment in the history of a clan and working on new Chiefly arms is an exceptionally rare honour. I understand my own emblazonment was on the first letter signed by the new Chief following his recognition.

This, from a discussion in r/heraldry two years ago, is

A TECHNICALLY CORRECT and READABLE emblazonment of the obverse of the Great Seal of the United States

Elsewhere in the book his experiments with an emoji emblazonment style are inspired and demonstrate the potential for contemporary heraldic development.
