Sooo... Projekt "Goodbye #Microsoft" kurz vor Abschluss. OneDrive auf NextCloud (bei Hetzner) migriert. Statt Outlook jetzt eMClient auf allen Geräten, Office-Apps durch OnlyOffice ersetzt. Noch läuft das Aufräumen und die Migration der Mailboxen, gleich mal Ballast abwerfen bei der Gelegenheit.

If anyone cares the email equivalent to Notepad++ is emClient: an email client from a company that will sell you a forever licence to use their email client software and has no interest in anything other than making their email client software better and no desire to mix bullshit in with your email.

Wie gewünscht ein paar aktuelle Findings zum Thema #eMClient vs #Outlook, damit es nicht verlorengeht.
Erster Eindruck: es adressiert schon sehr stark die Nutzer aktueller Outlook-Versionen. Man findet sich auf Anhieb zurecht. Zum Glück hat das Design von eM Client ein paar orangefarbene Akzente

Ich finds immer noch beängstigend, dass man die Leute 1x um den Mond herum schickt und denen dann fucking MS Outlook auf den Rechner packt. Von allen Programmen gerade diesen Schrott, dabei gäbe es mit zB eMClient eine sehr gute Alternative. Procurement bei der Nasa wohl auch nur wie im

eMClient ermittelt anhand des Absenders relativ intelligent ein passendes Logo pro Mail. Das macht es übersichtlicher und "bunter", ohne datenschutztechnisch kritisch zu sein. Klappt fast immer und alles, was ich bisher geprüft hat, ist auch korrekt und sinnvoll. Sympathisch.

it's great! only thing I'm not digging so far is the email part, unfortunately, but I'm happy using emclient anyway so I don't really need that function. solid browser overall though.

I use both eMclient and Thunderbird and they both work. Probably prefer eMclient. Nothing is a patch on Eudora for speed and simplicity for large email boxes and ease of finding attachments though - still mourning for it... I also have BlueMail alongside both for a speedy overview of everything

(the email client is emclient, & the free version is, as I said, good. Have also subbed out the default MS video (and de facto default in vlc bc I think its renderer sucks) and photo apps, got open source office alt and even chucked notepad for an open source version which doesn't have fkn copilot!)

Io uso emclient al posto di Outlook, però è gratuito solo fino ad un massimo di due account email. Puoi comunque provarlo e vedere se riesci a gestire il tutto

emClient hatte ich auch im Einsatz. Mobile hat der aber überhaupt nicht funktioniert. Der im Text erwähnte Client ist sehr schlicht und gefällt mir deshalb.

Thunderbird or Betterbird for email and calendar. Libre Office is a bit ugly but it is very good. I am also trying out emClient for email but it does carry a license cost for some features.

Als wunderbare Alternative zu Outlook kann ich #emClient empfehlen! Preiswerter Mail-Client der wirklich keine Wünsche offen lässt. In Verbindung mit Nextcloud unschlagbar.

outlook web pushed me over the edge and now I use emclient. i feel your pain. cloud app is great for ms' business and total shit for pretty much everybody else. google suite is slightly better.

After an eon using Airmail on MacOS, a 400% price hike and the increasingly buggy perf moved me on to emClient. Wow, so much faster!
It took me several hours to customise the UI mind you.

I'm not a fan of email in the browser, I much prefer a mail client. Because I'm now old.
After an eon using Airmail on MacOS, a 400% price hike and the increasingly buggy perf moved me on to emClient. Wow, so much faster!
It took me several hours to customise the UI mind you.

Thunderbird c'est un peu austère amha mais essayez celui intégré à Vivaldi Browser ou le logiciel emClient, qui ont une UX moderne.
L'avantage de Vivaldi est que c'est intégré à votre navigateur donc pas besoin d'ouvrir un logiciel à côté, ça ne vous dépaysera pas trop de votre webmail.

Sadly, Proton discontinued service for Win-7 that I use with some older software that is more developed that current stuff, thanks for the tip on Vulkan. Will try with old phones. I switched to Vimeo for sharing my video
