they already have gotten more direct than “i want to disappear”, mizuki said she didn’t want to live in ena5. mizu5 even down to a symbolism level was dark. kana2 also showed us kanade neglecting herself so severely she got hospitalized.
it’s 1000% just because of the gacha aspect.

The entire niigo arc from kana4-ena5 was only 6 events and half of them had zero relation to the climax of it and it was paced just fine anyway I'm not really worried about that at all.

Only thing I know that happened between when I stopped reading niigo stories and now is mizu5 ena5, which I obviously had to read anyways. Nothing else has been story breaking enough to get to me

so ik it’s in unit order but kanade’s charm is the lowest (maybe because she’s approaching her lowest limit) while mizuki is the highest (post-ena5 joy and self acceptance) and ena and mizuki’s charms face each other, mafuyu’s faces kanade’s, and kanade’s looks away 🤔🤔🤔

I haven't read anything of mizuki's story past ena5 (I have forgotten to open up the game recently to be frank 😭 and dont rlly read the JP releases) but I can imagine mizuki is still nervous about this even when she's been told how much she is desired, that's just how it is when you live with trauma
