The transition accelerates, meanwhile the Slovenian minister for energy: no more EV subsidies, new diesel subsidies for truckers (from energy transition fund), scrapping the RES-E and EE contributions, energy excise duties below EU minimum, and: "climate change is caused by vulcanoes on the sun"
Excellent article in El Pais on the impact of Hormuz on electrification this morning.

I told them “Electric cars and heat pumps are between three and four times more efficient [than their fossil equivalents]”

40. Decarbonization offers financial savings as well as costs. Even our Economic Transition Scenario, a base case where change is driven by cost analysis and existing policy, has energy import dependence falling substantially for many countries by 2035.

Did you know more than 90% of the new energy capacity added to the U.S. grid in recent years has come from clean energy?
Not even Trump can stop the clean energy transition. ⚡️🌱

In spite of traitor Trump, America is transitioning too. Actually, the high prices of energy are probably accelerating the transition.

The Energy Transition will only succeed if it is a permanent revolution. After we electrify transport, then industry, then we must electrify the soil, the plants and the animals, and then the human body. Then the soul.

Why would the world’s largest net importer of fossil fuels in a volatile geopolitical region invest almost a trillion into the energy transition?

The story tells itself, doesn’t it.

There are negative externalities in the process of energy transition it’s just that it’s not felt by people in the west. Hence what I meant by prickly
In the Other Place, I’ve often mused about who has to bear the costs of growth. China is in some ways just outsourcing the costs of development to those with less power, those who don’t get a say - whether they be Tibetans or South East Asian countries

Minister Tuisawau urges Pacific to accelerate clean energy shift
Fiji is pushing for a Pacific-wide transition to 100 per cent renewable energy, with cleaner transport and stronger regional cooperation needed to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels. Minister for Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport Ro Filipe Tuisawau said the transition must address transport emissions, energy security and the environmental risks associated with renewable energy waste. Speaking at the Pre-COP31 ministerial dialogue on a 100 per cent renewable energy future for the Blue Pacific at Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort and Spa in Wailoaloa, Nadi, on Thursday, Ro Filipe said climate action must deliver practical benefits for Pacific communities. “Keeping 1.5 degrees within reach is not an abstract negotiating objective; it concerns the security of our communities, economies and future generations. Adaptation and resilience remain priorities,” he said. He said land transport accounted for about 60 per cent of Fiji’s energy sector emissions and consumed around 60 per cent of imported petroleum. Without stronger intervention, emissions were projected to rise from about 870,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2018 to more than 1.6 million tonnes by 2050. He said Fiji was strengthening coordination across transport, energy, infrastructure, finance and urban development through its electric mobility programme, while...

AND

(2) Leads to overthrow of the Saudi regime.

Could it be because it doesn’t fit in with the narrative that the energy transition and urban development will save us?
There has to be a fast transition in all aspects, especially regarding our material culture.
