Thinking about how trans people are mentioned in the work of Enheduanna, the earliest known author. Has JK Rowling even said thank you
every “ancient tradition” was invented between 1848-1870 and every “modern perversion” is so ancient as to predate writing

“Enheduanna,
Daughter of Sargon
Ilum-pālil (is) her hairdresser.”

This is the inscription on a broken cylinder seal unearthed from a tomb at Ur, preserving the name of a man who used to do the hair of the world’s first named author, Enheduanna.

Enheduanna was writing about transgender priestesses in 2300 BCE.
I think I feel so insane when people are like "trans and gnc is a new thing created by the internet or whatever" because I was 6 years old in the 90's when I knew for certain that I didn't feel like a girl. There were no guideposts, no representation I could point to, but I *knew it* all along.

Mine is Enheduanna of Ur (ancient Iraq) she was the first writer/poet ever recorded. A princess and High Priestess of the goddess Inanna.

I love this. Kid got so annoyed at the homework, they chomped it. Take that, stupid "Copy the first five stanzas of Enheduanna" assignment!
The corner of this clay tablet, part of a list of words copied by students at ancient Babylonian schools, preserves not just the homework assignment, but also the bite marks of a pre-teen.

Hungry? Frustrated? Something else?

Our earliest named author is the Sumerian poet-priestess Enheduanna in 2300BC. Her works had to be stamped into clay with a cuneiform wedge. I'm just wondering how she'd feel about people who need a machine to write about needing a machine to read.
