My friend commissioned a fall scene set in Hell Creek during the late Cretaceous, featuring Denversaurus, Anzu & Eoneophron! Just in time for pumpkin spice season (ew.)! 😂

We've got a new dinosaur today! Eoneophron lived in the same habitat as Triceratops and hints that some dinosaur groups were flourishing just before the big asteroid strike. I'll tell you more at Smithsonian.

Stepping back from The Daily Horrors for a moment of #FossilFriday with the birdlike dinosaur Eoneophron infernalis—Pharaoh's dawn chicken from Hell—described in 2024

What's extra cool about this fossil is how it offers clues about dinosaur diversity prior to the KT asteroid & mass extinction 🧪☄️

God I wish this were the case.
Depending ifyou went with Pectinodon, you could have reused it for Boreonykus in "The Journey North".
And i'd love to have seen an oviraptorid, like Anzu or Eoneophron.

Pencil drawing of the recently described Caenagnathid oviraptorosaur Eoneophron infernalis. Here two individuals are duking it out over something.
I made the hallux claws super long because I was inspired by the spurs on roosters. I'm aware those are not homologous but I thought it was a cool idea.

"This was no juvenile. Instead, it was an adult of an entirely new species, which we dubbed Eoneophron infernalis. The name means “Pharaoh’s dawn chicken from hell,” referencing the nickname of its larger cousin Anzu."
