La Ercolania viridis es un Nudibranquio sorprendente.

Y es que hace la fotosíntesis animal, la cleptoplastia. Se alimenta de la energía solar incorporando los cloroplastos de las plantas y algas que ingiere en sus tejidos.

PLEASE let the new species of sea slug in the Ercolania genus be named homoassbear. PLEASE I BEG YOU

A 3 mm Ercolania fuscata traverses a blade of Stalked Grape Algae (Caulerpa lamourouxii) in its quest to find more chloroplasts to slurp. These little #sacoglossan slugs come to visit us in the tropical western Atlantic for a short time in late summer and fall. #nudivember #seaslug #marinelife 🦑

i keep forgetting theres a ton of sacoglossans that have a very ethereal appearance like this so that might just be what he is
the position of his "ears" and antennae dont match up with any sea slug really. shrug
