The system we have built with ATProto (the underlying tech of bluesky) is an extremely successful (comparatively speaking) manifestation of the underlying ethos of the decentralization space. We took the best learnings from the past decade of work there and made a social network with them

That's very true of the Fediverse and one thing that's held that network back so much.
IMHO the atproto/Bluesky ethos is much more pragmatic.
The best way I've found to explain it is using the example of Netscape and the web: the web is completely open but built *largely* by commercial entities.
