A reminder EUPD is NOT the new name for BPD.
It is the old name for BPD.
EUPD no longer exists in ICD-11, the latest revision of the diagnostic bible we use in the U.K. and half the world.
BPD is no longer a diagnoses either but is a TRAIT QUALIFIER that gets added to PD 1/2

seeing the way the nhs started treating me as soon as they started suspecting i have bpd/eupd has been radicalising ngl
being labeled a problem patient makes getting any healthcare so much harder. it makes speaking up when someone misgenders or gatekeeps you a precarious situation. this person comtrols your access to not just your hrt but any other healthcare if you piss them off.

bpd in particular is also called eupd(emotionally unstable personality disorder) in some countries which is rather misleading because all 4 disorders in cluster b are characterized by emotional instability, just in different ways

honestly the entire conceptual field of "personality disorders" is fucked. There's some genuine predictive value* to the symptom list (not the conceptual framing) for BPD/EUPD but in general the taxonomy is some fucking 19th century 'pretending to do science when we're just making silly lists' shit.
I've never been diagnosed with a cluster B personality disorder, but I do have several symptoms in common & I've gotta say I'm really tired of people primarily discussing abusive behavior through the lens of those disorders (especially when a far more productive lens would be wealth or power)

Saw the associate psychiatrist again today - apparently he caused controversy within the team by leaving off the old EUPD diagnosis. We discussed it today and he said he’s sticking to his guns, I do not have EUPD.
The rest of the team have treated me so badly.Why do professionals hate EUPD so much?
