And the voices in the industry that are teasing us with an ai-driven eutopia of prosperity keep saying we'll need laws to create a strong social safety net and share the wealth while actively lobbying for neither of those things and simply getting richer themselves.

Star Trek, in its best form, isn’t a utopia but a eutopia. It isn’t perfect, and that’s the point. It’s simply a world that’s good to live in, where everyone can be their flawed, messy, beautiful self.
Let me explain very clearly why we all need more Lower Decks.
Star Trek has at it's core not an idea of utopia, but an idea of being our best self.
