I don’t recall Evenstar seeking out DSAs endorsement, Beausoleil applied and members voted “no” at a GM
November 4, 2026 at 10:30 PM
DSA didn't endorse Evenstar or Beausoleil?
November 4, 2026 at 10:29 PM
some campaigns this cycle have collaborated with known right wing scam artist kevin dalhgren. on the other hand, jamey evanstar's outreach director told him to go fuck himself on camera and caused him to cry about it for several days, which is another good argument for ranking jamey evenstar for D4
November 3, 2026 at 2:58 PM
idk, evenstar and smith both had pretty good nights all things considered and didn't get at all close to 25%. I don't think the votes are there.
November 4, 2026 at 5:58 AM
Idk if we will live in a world with Mitch Green, Jamey Evenstar and Jeremy Beausolelil Smith are all on city council, but I want to so bad.

yeah, maybe it's more like 35%! I was adding that final total for Green+Evenstar+Beausoleil Smith and rounding up for the sake of argument
November 4, 2026 at 8:15 PM
Like I'm a big fan of Jamey Evenstar, who had the smartest housing positions of any non-incumbent. But the "best" case of running a successful campaign aimed at progressives was that she would replace Green.

To win an additional progressive-leaning seat you'd have to pull a *lot* of Clark voters.

Another dynamic we haven't seen yet that might cut against these good points is the succession process.

Evenstar & Beausoleil Smith positioning makes sense to succeed a Green who runs for mayor; Arnold positioning (including free transit etc) makes sense if he wants succeed Clark on retirement.

Don't know that it's *official* official but it's looking real good so far 11 rounds in

Played this a bunch, and actually an amazing Vore game, and I can't wait to see what you add to it in the future! If I had to say anything, the camera navigation map is huge and takes up a lot of the screen, which is kind of annoying. And I find it very hard to know when to close the vent for Rouge.

also, if you’re in D4, rank green, evenstar and smith
this is a genuine bombshell
District 4 City Council candidate and Portland police officer Eli Arnold is ranked among the top police officers for incidents in which force was used against a person, according to Portland Police Bureau (PPB) data.

My election night hopes for #portland:

✅ Mitch Green re-elected D4 councilor
❌ Jamey Evenstar elected D4 councilor
✅Eli Arnold rejected D4 councilor
✅ Shannon Singleton elected county chair
✅ "Your Two Cents" participatory budgeting measure defeated

Not too shabby.

Bringing up the rear here; with 2 hours to go before the deadline to submit your voter ballots to the designated drop boxes.

If you haven’t yet voted, please do so now!

also, if you’re in D4, rank green first, then rank evenstar second, then rank smith third (in my opinion)
i support the locals because i think they’re genuinely doing good things for portland, but the national org can fucking die in a fire

Based on my initial research for city council D4, currently leaning toward:

(1) Mitch Green
(2) Jamey Evenstar
(3) Jeremy Beausoleil Smith
(4)
(5)
(6)

Anyone else on the D4 ballot worth taking a closer look at? Absolutely will not be ranking Arnold, Zimmerman, or Clark.

Mitch Green and Jamey Evenstar for Portland City Council. I listen to Jamey speak and it's like oh shit, she's smart! She's Smart! I want smart people in our government!

green because i think his experience and knowledge are important, evenstar because i think her knowledge and focus on old town is even more important, and smith because fuck both zimmerman and clark for their greasing the skids on the blazers deal

These are interesting interviews, the best I’ve seen in Portland

In Zimmerman’s district I voted
1. Mitch Green
2. Jamey Evenstar

Zimmerman - who communicates very well - has a lot of union support plus some key state leaders. Is threatened by well-funded police officer Eli Arnold.

I'm saying that nobody rallied behind a candidate besides Mitch. Evenstar and Smith are extremely weak candidates. I haven't even gotten a single mailer from them. It's a failure of "local Portland politics" that nobody that could take over a spot from Clark or Zimmerman ran.
October 28, 2026 at 9:02 PM
truth be told, i kind of want to rank evenstar first because i desperately want more councilors who understand how the city actually fucking works, but green's under a lot more negative pressure, nobody's putting out billboards with jamey evenstar's face on them
