Charlie Brown killed the aluminum Christmas tree: By the mid-60s, the Aluminum Specialty Co. was selling 150,000 Evergleam Christmas trees annually. But then, in 1965, Charlie Brown chose the sad little pine tree over Lucy’s Mid-Century Modern metal one. By 1970, the Evergleam was extinct.

My 60 year old tree has been called many things, A Festivus tree, It's core is just a metelec cylinder. An Atomic Tree, but I doubt it has a half life. Originally called the Evergleam, it has outlasted its cardboard box by about 20 years and will be here long after my bones are dust. Happy Holidays

I was born beneath a golden sun,
Eyes burning with evergleam.
The cold wind bore me into light,
And all that lived, soon perished.
Eyes burning with evergleam.
The cold wind bore me into light,
And all that lived, soon perished.
