#evermasker
COVID can damage your immune system for a year, and most people get it around once a year.

That is some simple but troubling math. Better an evermasker than having an ever-ailing immune system.
New study shows that COVID may damage your immune system for a year post infection.

This is the problem with ignoring a pandemic in favour of a “you do you” approach.

There’s so much Covid that most people get it at least once per year. Their immune systems don’t have time to recover
COVID-19 may put patients at risk for other infections for at least 1 year

"evermasker"

1: many people who practice precautionary masking have specific conditions under which they intend to unmask or mask less, those conditions just aren't being met... thanks to the spread of disease

2: so?

nothing wrong with masking forever if you want, even without pandemics

Maybe I should just get some shirts that say things like “proud evermasker” and “cover your filthy gob”

I'm turning this around.

Hi 👋 I'm an #EverMasker

#EverMasker
I love taking a RW slur and turning into a compliment.

I am an #evermasker. I am 3 immune suppressant medications (plus one that effects WBC) Of course, I mask. Infections are worse for me and potentially dangerous.
I’m not eccentric. I am doing one of the few things I can to protect myself.
More outrageously condescending “coverage” from @theatlantic.com that paints people who want to avoid infection with a virus known to damage brains, hearts, and immune systems—as kooky “eccentrics.”

I was a kooky eccentric way before becoming an #Evermasker. Proud to be both. In fact let’s say I’m a proud #EccentricEvermasker :-D And fook that trash rag the Atlantic, by writing shite like this they’re propping up the regime and the destruction of public health.

Thankfully I’m well, but I have immunocompromised people I care about in my daily & professional life so I remain an EverMasker. Some close to me think I’m paranoid, I am, but it’s the idea that I’ll bring contagious infections to the vulnerable I love.

Still an EverMasker in crowded places, whenever I need to be upclose to others, always meet to dine outdoors or large open spaces because I do not wish to be a vector for infections & to protect the vulnerable I may encounter. It’s not hard to do.😷

I tried to warn my hairdresser coworkers at the end of February 2020 that we were only 2 weeks away from Italy Asia most of Europe…by March 12 I shut my business down and packed up my station, luckily I could decide not to return. Still an EverMasker.

All I can do at this point is stay masked. I’m gratefully healthy but I promised to not be a vector of disease for anyone around me nor expose myself. No one wants to know why no one wants to deal w reality anymore. I’m remaining an #Evermasker

Evermasker. Still.
Do not want to be a vector of infection to the immunocompromised.
May 23, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Evermasker here. Made a vow to my immunocompromised clients that I’d not be a vector of infection and I’m sticking to it. Do not care what anyone says or thinks, easiest damn thing to do. 😷💕

Yay, now I am not only woke but also eccentric and an evermasker.

I’ll gladly wear all of these terms as badges of honour.
Although they are meant to oust and to insult, they seem more like compliments to me.

Nonetheless, being the lonesome masker is highly inefficient and THAT pisses me off!

Happy to be an evermasker, regardless of how much it ostracizes me from friends and family

Evermasker sounds like a rly dope movie trilogy 😂

Absent these changes, perhaps I will be an 'evermasker'. Or maybe I will not continue to have the resilience, capacity, resources, or freedom to do so.
I live in hope, but day by day, continue to do what I believe is right by myself and us all.
