#extrude
I extrude lots of Rust, Python, Typescript, some Go and recently Lean, but in a perfect world I'd like to go back to typing haskell slowly (not for work i.e)

Also . . . I don't care if it IS a unicorn; it's going to extrude some Extra Nasty Viruses in that pepperoni pizza. 🤣

The return of the light after a long period of darkness. If this person thinks whatever sounds & tones & harmonies his plagiarism machine can extrude out of other artists work will somehow supplant the human impulse to create & communicate I am sorry he has lived such an impoverished life.

The problem is when money can vote, can buy power, when money can extrude influence - and the fact that money can buy time, effort and ability to do action.

We can set any form of law, but we don't silence money - in part, because everyone wants a piece of the pie, and that's the real prob.

This further muddies the discourse. "Stochastic parrots" remains a good description of what a language model does, when run to extrude synthetic text. It was never meant as a description of all algorithms that process language data.

Revenge porn, sure, but also the pure reward stimulus of pressing a button and having infinite variations of nude-woman-shaped-things extrude from your screen per your specs.

I've been adding support for OSM data to my planetary engine and working on the geometry to extrude believable buildings and sidewalks. I've also added a basic procedural dressing system built around a set of reusable modules. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev

i wanna make a tool in godot where you can just like

put down a plane

draw lines on it with a pen

and extrude that section

and like deform it and control vertex density and stuff

i wanna make like. ocarina of time terrain. drools..

There's literally no reason to 3d print this stuff. just put it in machine and extrude the shape you need... the "3d printing" is such a fucking gimmick in this case.

Things I've learned...

* Cut mesh in half and use mirror modifier for symmetry.
* Sub divisions and loop cuts to create extra faces.
* Extrude tool to pull faces out and create new ones.
* Grab tool to mould things into shape.
* Merge close vertices to reduce poly count.
* Sculpt mode still useful.

Eren Can Metin and Emre Gökçe put the verbs of 3D modeling into a multiplayer hide-and-seek round.
In FAKE ME, your disguise starts as a blank block
Every prop hunt game before this one handed you a menu of objects. _FAKE ME_ hands you a cube. Fakers in this multiplayer hide-and-seek start each round as a blank block and model their own disguise live—move, rotate and scale with a gizmo, then extrude, inset, outset, and cut faces, then paint with a color picker and metallic and roughness values, while a host-set timer of 100 to 900 seconds runs down. This is competitive 3D modeling wearing a party game's clothes. The game is up for wishlisting on Steam, due Q4 2026. 0:00 /0:33 1× The gameplay trailer, looping mute here — watch it with sound on Steam. The developers are Eren Can Metin and Emre Gökçe of Turkish studio YUMEXE, building on Unreal Engine 5.7 with GradientSpace's Runtime Geometry Utils plugin, modified so UVs regenerate in real time and paint survives every edit. They told 80 Level the aim is that "players can become anything they want," with short GIF demonstrations beside each tool so nobody needs a modeling background. Seekers get the same toolset for cosmetics—sculpt your own armor before the hunt. Killscreen wrote back in 2015 that hide-and-seek deserved better than videogames were giving it, and _FAKE ME_ 's answer arrives from an unexpected direction: not better hiding spots but better hiders. It lands in the wake of _Meccha Chameleon_ 's paint-and-blend success, and the question is: is this secretly a 3D literacy tool for kids? The friendliest Blender tutorial ever shipped might turn out to be a round of tag. Build modes and bad disguises. Screenshots via FAKE ME on Steam. We just announced Xogot Modeler. Inspired by Unity’s ProBuilder, it lets you build levels in your 3D Godot scenes. Create geometry, extrude meshes and more without leaving Xogot.

Check out @migueldeicaza.bsky.social's blog post for the full story, with lots of demos:

Those are instructions in text form, LLMs are designed to extrude text. Plotting implies cognition, LLMs do not have cognition.

trying a different 3D modeling technique. I usually start with a single quad and extrude it until I get the shape I want. this time I started with the major outlines, and now I'll try to fill the space in between

I think the infrastructure has heavily consolidated. The nozzles from which our culture streams extrude are all part of the same machine, but that machine doesn't constitute a monoculture in the sense of a collective awareness and response to the same cultural products.
